Comprehensive School Counseling Program
Purpose of the Program
The Puyallup School District’s Comprehensive School Counseling Program supports every student’s academic, career, and social-emotional development and meets Washington state requirements aligned with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model.
How Students Are Supported
School counselors provide classroom lessons, small-group and individual support, and targeted interventions to help students succeed in school, plan for life after graduation, and build essential social-emotional skills. Services are delivered through a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), ensuring all students receive universal support, with additional help available when needed.
Ongoing Review and Improvement
The counseling program is reviewed annually using student data to measure impact, identify gaps, and ensure services are equitable, effective, and aligned with district goals.
