Thank you for your interest in being a member of the Student Attendance Success Board for the Puyallup School District.
The Student Attendance Success Board (SASB) is an intervention where the court approves the school district to resolve attendance concerns outside of court, under a “stay” petition.
Mission
The Puyallup School District Attendance Success Board will rely on the expertise of community members, school staff, counselors, students, and families to improve student attendance through positive intervention.
BECCA Bill
The BECCA Bill mandates that school districts file a petition with the court for students who have 7 unexcused absences in 1 month, or 15 in the current academic year.
As a member of the SASB you will meet with students and families as part of a school-based intervention to discuss barriers to attendance and develop an agreement to re-engage the student. Your time commitment would be up to 4 hours/quarter.
