Two PSD Schools Earn National Recognition for Inclusive Culture and Values
This past summer, Puyallup High (PHS) and Ferrucci Junior High (FJH), along with over 80 other schools across North America, were recognized for fostering a culture of belonging and pride on campus!
Both schools were named 2024 Jostens Renaissance Schools of Distinction, acknowledging schools making a positive impact by practicing the program's formula: Respect + Recognize + Reward, Reinforce + Relationships = Results. In July, students and staff from PHS and FJH traveled to Orlando, Florida, to attend the 2024 Jostens Renaissance Global Conference to be recognized for their efforts.
According to Jostens' website, the schools were placed in a three-tier ranking system, with PHS and FJH reaching the Platinum level, the highest level a school can achieve. Platinum schools were successful at accomplishing specific goals and measures to earn the top distinction, including:
- Completing three of the program's Commitment to Graduate Initiatives.
- Reinforcing school values.
- Making a difference with community service projects.
- Recognizing students and staff for their exceptional performances.
- Developing partnerships with the community.
Join us in congratulating PHS and FJH for this amazing achievement!
