The Great Reveal: The Anonymous College Fair

An indoor college fair with tables displaying college materials and attendees interacting. A banner reads “The Great Reveal: The Anonymous College Fair” with the event date and time.

May 19 | 5–8 p.m. | Emerald Ridge HS

On May 19, the Puyallup School District will host a reimagined college fair experience designed to challenge assumptions, expand opportunity, and provide transparent insight into how colleges evaluate applicants and award financial aid.

The Great Reveal: The Anonymous College Fair is an event built around one core objective: Increase access and awareness of colleges that are often perceived as “out of reach” whether due to location, selectivity, reputation, or cost.

How It Works

Part 1: The Walkaround (Anonymous Exploration):

For the first portion of the evening, colleges will not be identified by name.

Students and families will:

  • Explore academic programs

  • Learn about merit scholarship opportunities

  • Discuss campus culture and student supports

  • Review fictional student profiles and financial scenarios

The goal? Evaluate schools based on fit, offerings, and opportunity, not brand recognition or preconceived notions.

Part 2: The Reveal & Panel Discussion:

After the walkaround, all participating institutions will be revealed and brought together for a moderated panel discussion.

Topics will include:

  • How admissions decisions are made

  • How merit and need-based aid are awarded

  • How different financial circumstances impact affordability

  • Case study scenarios (fictional student profiles)

This portion is designed to demystify selective admissions and provide transparent insight into how colleges evaluate applicants.

Confirmed Colleges (Additional institutions pending)

More institutions are in the confirmation process.

The Great Reveal is designed to challenge assumptions and expand possibility. By removing labels and reputations from the equation, students can focus on what truly matters - academic fit, opportunity, and affordability. We invite families to join us on May 19 and experience a different way to think about college access.
