Supporting All Students in the Puyallup School District

an immigrant/refugee family

At the Puyallup School District, our mission is to create a safe and supportive learning environment where every student—regardless of immigration status—feels valued, empowered, and able to thrive. We are committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring all students have equal access to a high-quality education. 

Our guidance on immigration policies is grounded in current federal, state, and district laws and regulations, including the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Plyler v. Doe (1982) that guarantees the right to public education for all students. We prioritize student safety and privacy, and we will not initiate engagement with immigration authorities or share student information without prior consent. 

In accordance with Puyallup School District Regulation 3226 and OSPI guidelines, we will ensure that all interactions with immigration agents are led by central office administrators and prioritize the protection of our students.
