2025-26 Transition to Kindergarten Online Interest Form Now Open!

Transition to Kindergarten is a free program designed to assist pre-k-aged learners who would benefit from additional support to be successful in kindergarten.
The first full day of Transition to Kindergarten for the 2025-26 school year is Monday, October 6, 2025, and the last full day will be Thursday, June 11, 2026.
Student Eligibility Requirements for 2025-26 School Year
- Reside in the Puyallup School District boundary.
- Must be at least 4 years old by August 31, 2025.
- Demonstrate a need for additional assistance to prepare for kindergarten the following school year.
- No previous pre-school or pre-k experience.
Online Interest Form
Families interested in enrolling their child(ren) must complete the online interest form.
Applicants will receive an auto-reply email with your form submission details and the following steps to complete the application process.
When is the Deadline to Submit an Online Interest Form?
Monday, May 26, 2025
Screening Process
- Completion of the Transition-to-Kindergarten Online Interest Form.
- An in-person 45-minute assessment to occur in a potential TK classroom (Assessments will begin in late June 2025 for the 2025-26 school year).
The assessment will test students will be tested in various areas, such as:
- Language
- Motor development
- Letter names and sounds
- Counting
- Basic shape identification

Transportation
PSD Students accepted into the Transition to Kindergarten program and residing within a host school neighborhood boundary may take their regular bus to and from the host school.
PSD Students accepted into the Transition to Kindergarten program who do not reside within a host school neighborhood boundary can be transported to a TK Host School by a parent or guardian from their residential boundary school.
