Seeking Board Student Reps for 24-25 School Year

The Puyallup School District Board of Directors is seeking high school junior and senior student representatives to serve alongside the school board beginning in September for the 2024-25 school year.

The Board of Directors recognizes the value of student representation on the school board so that student voice and input are included in board work. Juniors and seniors in good standing attending Emerald Ridge, Puyallup, Rogers, Walker High School, and Puyallup Online Academy are encouraged to apply. Running Start students are also encouraged to apply and will be considered for an ‘at-large’ position.

How Long is the Term?

The estimated time commitment required for student board members is one year. Students are required to attend all board meetings, rotating on an in-person and virtual schedule.

Application Timeline

Completed applications must be received by the district’s Instructional Leadership committee by 5 p.m. on May 15.

Selected applicants will be notified shortly after the application period closes and expected to appear for in-person interviews May 21-23.  Final selections will be made by May 30 and recognized at the September 3 school board meeting.
