Puyallup Access Card Usage Rescheduled for October 20: Enhanced Safety and Bus Tracking with StopFinder App and Access Cards

Our new transportation system this school year is designed to enhance student safety and communication. The system offers real-time bus tracking and notifications when your child boards and exits a bus, made possible by the Puyallup Access Cards that students will begin using on October 20th. Originally scheduled for October 6th, the rollout has been rescheduled to ensure our upgraded routing software and bus driver tablets are fully operational for a seamless transition.

What's New?

  • Puyallup Access Card: Students will receive a unique card to scan upon boarding and exiting, ensuring safety and accountability.
  • StopFinder App Integration: Track buses in real-time, receive notifications when your child boards and exits, and access route information.

The Importance of the StopFinder App

The StopFinder app is crucial for families as it works in conjunction with the Puyallup Access Cards, providing real-time bus tracking for regular and activity buses, helping you know when your child's bus is running late.

Why the Change?

We've heard your concerns and are committed to providing a safe, reliable, and transparent transportation experience for our students and families. This new system addresses community feedback by focusing on:

  • Safety: The Puyallup Access Card ensures every student is accounted for during their ride.
  • Reliability: StopFinder app integration provides real-time updates on bus locations and schedule changes.

New System Timeline

  • August: Families start receiving emails from noreply@stopfinder.com with instructions to download the StopFinder app and your child's unique ID. Contact Transportation if you have not received the email invitation.

  • Late September/Early October: Schools distribute Puyallup Access Cards.

  • Beginning October 20: All students will begin using their Puyallup Access Card to board and exit the bus. Please note that service will not be denied if a student does not have their card.

We look forward to a successful rollout of our new transportation system and providing a safer, more reliable experience for our students and families.
