Public School Volunteer Week 2025

A Fruitland Elementary volunteer helping a student

Public School Volunteer Week (April 21-25) is a special time to recognize and celebrate the incredible contributions of volunteers who support our schools and students throughout the year. Whether they are helping in classrooms, organizing events, mentoring students, or assisting with school programs, volunteers play a vital role in creating positive and enriching learning environments.

Honoring the Heart of Our Community

The Puyallup School District (PSD) extends its gratitude to the more than 8,700 parents, guardians, students, relatives, and community members who currently contribute their time to our district during the 2024-25 school year. These dedicated volunteers play a crucial role in fostering a vibrant and supportive educational environment.

Get Involved with PSD Volunteer Services

Whether assisting in classrooms, supporting school events, or mentoring students, volunteers make a significant impact. Your involvement enriches our schools and strengthens our community.

To learn more about volunteer opportunities and how to get started, please visit our Volunteer Services page.

Recognizing Student Commitment

PSD proudly offers the Varsity Letter in Volunteer Service program to students in grades 7–12 who complete at least 150 hours of unpaid community service within a single school year. Eligible activities include volunteering with organizations such as Communities In Schools, participating in March Gladness projects, assisting at hospitals, engaging in environmental initiatives, and more. In addition to logging their hours, students are required to submit a 250–500-word reflective essay on how their service has impacted themselves and their community.

Together, we can continue to build a supportive and thriving educational environment for all students.
