Congratulations to the following PSD schools for being recognized by the Association of Washington School Principals (AWSP) and the Association of Washington Student Leaders (AWSL) for elevating student voices!
In 2024, AWSP and AWSL introduced the Washington Schools on the Rise Award to honor schools where students and adults work together to strengthen school culture and amplify student voices.
Recognition criteria include:
- Established systems where students and adults collaborate to lead school culture
- Opportunities for multiple student voices and perspectives to be heard
- Authentic engagement that elevates student voice
At the 2025 AWSP Summer Conference, Ballou, Carson, Emerald Ridge, Shaw Road, and Waller Road joined 41 other schools across Washington as award recipients. Congratulations, and thank you for making students feel seen, valued, and heard!
