PSD Schools Recognized by State Board of Education

The SBE Washington School Recognition Program Logo

Last month, five schools in the Puyallup School District were recognized by the Washington State Board of Education (SBE) for exceptional student support during the 2021-22 school year.

According to the SBE website, since 2018, in collaboration with the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and the Educational Opportunity Gap Oversight and Accountability Committee (EOGOAC), the SBE's State School Recognition System recognizes schools based on metrics in the state accountability system used in the Washington School Improvement Framework (WSIF). For the 2021-22 school year, the State School Recognition System recognized schools for closing gaps, growth, and achievement.

Along with over 300 schools and educational programs across the state, five PSD Schools earned recognition for the following:

  • Hunt Elementary: Growth for one or more student groups
  • Northwood Elementary: Growth for one or more student groups
  • Ridgecrest Elementary: Closing Gaps and Growth for one or more student groups
  • Woodland Elementary: Growth for one or more student groups
  • Puyallup High: Closing Gaps for English Learner Progress

Congratulations, and thank you for your tireless efforts in making a difference for our students!
