PSD Schools Earn Statewide School Culture Award

Congratulations to Firgrove Elementary and Aylen Junior High for recently being recognized by the Association of Washington School Principals (AWSP) and the Association of Washington Student Leaders (AWSL) for elevating student voices!
According to its website, in 2024, the AWSP and AWSL introduced the Washington Schools on the Rise Award, recognizing schools where students and adults collaborate to improve culture and amplify student voices.
The award's recognition criteria include:
- Established systems demonstrating students and adults collaborating and leading school culture together
- Examples of schools engaging multiple student voices and perspectives
- Examples of authentic student engagement and elevated student voice
At the 2024 AWSP Summer Conference, along with 19 other schools across the state, Aylen, and Firgrove were recognized as the inaugural recipients. Congratulations, and thank you for making our students feel seen and heard!
