PSD Schools Earn Statewide Recognition for Positive School Culture
Emerald Ridge High School and Shaw Road Elementary were both recognized by the Association of Washington Student Leaders (AWSL) and the Association of Washington School Principals (AWSP) for their exceptional efforts in fostering positive school culture.
Emerald Ridge High launched a new “Step Up” theme to help create inclusive, leadership opportunities for students. By hosting a welcoming Pep Assembly and engaging students with initiatives like “High Five Friday,” a committed focus on schoolwide events and community service projects help strengthen school spirit.
Shaw Road Elementary introduced “Trailblazing to the Summit” to inspire growth and service in their school. A summer camp-themed staff kickoff event and a dedication to expanding student leadership roles in the school, such as library helpers and the Student Equity Advisory Group, reflect Shaw Road’s commitment to a supportive, collaborative environment.
Join us in congratulating Shaw Road and Emerald Ridge on receiving this recognition!
