October Is National Principals Month

A graphic reading "National Principals Month - October 2026" with children visible behind it.

October is National Principals Month, recognizing and honoring school leaders and administrators for their tireless efforts in shaping the future of our students. It's a time to shine a light on the pivotal role that principals play in creating an environment of learning, growth, and success for youth.

What Principals Do Every Day

School principals play a crucial role in the education system. They manage schools, support staff, and create an environment that helps every student learn and grow. Behind the scenes, they make sure the school operates smoothly for students, families, and teachers.

How Principals Help Students Thrive

Principals set the tone for learning at school. They work with teachers to design strong academic programs, ensure students have access to high-quality education, and foster a positive school culture where everyone can succeed.

They’re also committed to the whole child, making sure students feel safe, supported, and encouraged socially and emotionally while they learn.

Ways to Say “Thank You”

Throughout October 2026, staff, students, families, community members, and alumni can show their appreciation for Puyallup School District Principals and Assistant Principals!

Fill out this form to share your support, and check back here throughout October to see how our school leaders have made a difference in our community.
