January is School Board Recognition Month, a time to celebrate the hard work and dedication of school board members and to highlight their vital role in shaping the future of our schools.

Board Member Duties

As elected officials, school board members have various responsibilities, which include budget oversight, advocating for the needs of students, and creating systems to meet district goals. Also, they selflessly volunteer their time and expertise to ensure all students have access and resources for schools to provide them with world-class education.

In the Puyallup School District, our passionate and elected local leaders are champions of public education, guiding and supporting the needs of PSD. Additionally, they fulfill an essential role in fostering student achievement by displaying efficient leadership and establishing thoughtful policies and transparency within the PSD Community.
