GESA Credit Union Opens Student-Run Branch at Emerald Ridge

Students and staff at Emerald Ridge High School celebrate the grand opening of the new GESA Credit Union student-operated branch. A ribbon-cutting takes place under green and black balloons, with a banner reading “GESA Credit Union Opens Second Student-Operated Branch in PSD” and an Academic Excellence icon displayed.

The GESA Credit Union Branch at Emerald Ridge High School officially launched with a successful grand opening on Tuesday, October 28. The student-operated branch is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during school hours and proudly serves students, staff, and community members.

Managed by Keaton Gust, a senior in the Business & Marketing III program and a third-year DECA member. a dedicated team of trained student tellers and marketing associates are gaining valuable, hands-on experience in banking, customer service, and financial literacy.

In addition to the immediate interest from the student body, students are learning about the benefits of having a debit card, as well as checking and savings accounts.

Emerald Ridge joins Puyallup High School as the second school to feature a GESA Credit Union branch on their campus. The early response has been overwhelmingly positive, with both students and staff taking advantage of the convenience and educational opportunities offered through the district's ongoing partnership with GESA Credit Union.
