Gesa Credit Union Affinity Card Program Gives Back to PSD

Ten people smile for a photo holding a novelty check from Gesa Credit Union for fifteen thousand dollars.

Puyallup School District recently received a $15,000 contribution from Gesa Credit Union through its Affinity Debit Card program, a community partnership that supports both student learning and school programs.

The contribution is part of Gesa’s annual giveback to Western Washington schools and reflects the impact of everyday purchases made by Gesa members who choose a school-branded Affinity Debit Card.

The Gesa partnership is also connected to PSD’s broader commitment to financial literacy and career-connected learning. Through the High School Credit Union Program, students gain hands-on experience in the real world of finance while building practical life skills such as money management, customer service, and financial decision-making. Planned student-run branch-kiosks will allow students to apply classroom learning in a realistic banking environment with support from teachers and Gesa’s Education Team.

Families, students, alumni, staff, and community members can support PSD schools through co-branded Gesa Affinity Debit Cards representing Emerald Ridge High School, Puyallup High School, Rogers High School, and Walker High School, and Puyallup Digital Learning. Each time a participating member uses one of these cards for everyday purchases, they help generate support for academic, athletic, and extracurricular programs, at no additional cost to the cardholder.

PSD appreciates Gesa Credit Union and its members for investing in our students, schools, and future-ready learning opportunities. This contribution not only provides direct support for school programs, but also highlights the value of strong community partnerships that help students develop skills they can use in school, work, and life.
