Free YMCA Teen Late Nights Return Fridays at Mel Korum Family YMCA

Starting Friday, January 9, 2026, students in grades 9-12 are invited to a free, safe, and supervised Teen Late Nights at the Mel Korum Family YMCA every Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 p.m. The weekly drop-in program gives teens a positive place to connect with friends, stay active, and build community through sports, games, and fitness.

Program Details

  • Where: Mel Korum YMCA - 302 43rd Ave SE, Puyallup, WA 98374
  • When: Fridays | 9:30-11:30 p.m.
  • Who Can Attend: Students in grades 9-12
  • Cost: Free—YMCA membership is not required
  • Required Documents: YMCA waiver—students and families will complete at the Mel Korum YMCA
  • What Students Need to Bring
    • A school or government-issued ID
    • Comfortable clothes and shoes for recreation
  • Closed Dates:
    • Friday July 3, 2026
    • Friday November 27, 2026
    • Friday December 25, 2026 (Christmas Day)
    • Friday January 1st, 2027 (New Year's Day) 

What Teens Can Do at Late Night Events

Each week, students can join friends for open recreation and group activities including:

  • 4-on-4 basketball
  • 5-on-5 volleyball
  • Billiards
  • Ping pong
  • Foosball
  • Board games
  • Weight room and strength training access with supervised use of cardio and fitness equipment

Safety & Supervision

Teen Late Nights are run and supervised by trained YMCA staff who create a safe, welcoming environment for all participants. The program focuses on positive choices, belonging, and community connection.
