Ferrucci Junior High Schedule Update: OSPI Approves Waiver of Missed Instructional Days

The entrance to Ferrucci Junior High School with the text 'Ferrucci Junior High Updates' overlaid.

As previously communicated, Ferrucci students missed a total of five instructional days following the April 4 fire at the school. The district had scheduled three make-up days on May 22, June 17, and June 18, and submitted an emergency waiver request to the Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI).

We have now received confirmation that OSPI has approved the waiver for all five missed instructional days.

What This Means for Students and Families

  • The previously scheduled make-up days (May 22, June 17, and June 18) are no longer needed.
  • The last day of school for Ferrucci students will be June 16, aligning with all other students in the district.
  • June 16 will remain a 3.25-hour early release day, consistent with the district’s last day of school schedule.

We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we worked through this process and coordinated with state partners. Our focus remains on supporting students and maintaining consistency for the remainder of the school year.
