Ferrucci Junior High Student to Represent Team USA Wrestling

Ferrucci Junior High student Maisie Elliott, wearing a red USA wrestling uniform, smiles proudly after a match. Text reads: 'Heart of a Champion – Ferrucci Junior High Student to Represent Team USA Wrestling. Read More at PuyallupSD.org.' The Puyallup School District and Family & Community Engagement logos are also displayed.

Ferrucci Junior High's Maisie Elliott is on her way to represent Team USA!

In March, Maisie secured a coveted spot on the U17 World Wrestling Team - a major milestone in her dreams of competing as an Olympic athlete.

Elliott's achievement is even more impressive given the challenges she faced. In the days leading up to the tournament, Maisie was battling a sinus infection, bronchitis, and a double ear infection. Despite being sick and unsure if she could compete, Maisie pushed through with determination and came out on top.

Elliott also competed for the U15 Pan Am Team and placed fifth, wrestling through a back injury sustained mid-tournament. Now fully recovered, Maisie will travel to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, this June for the U17 Pan Am Games and, in August, to the U17 World Championships in Athens, Greece, where she will compete against the world’s best in the 40kg division.

Join us in cheering on Maisie as she represents her school, community, and country this summer!
