History of the Vesey/Munson Art Show

The annual award show honors veteran Puyallup School District art teachers Dan Vesey and Deb Munson, who inspired students, teachers, and the community with their creativity and dedication.

Dan, a beloved mentor, taught for 30 years, sharing his passion generously. His award began in 1998 as a tribute to his impact. Deb, who began teaching in 1974, carried on his legacy while leading and volunteering in the arts community. Their shared love for the arts continues to inspire, and we celebrate their passion through the creativity of Puyallup students.

Empty Bowls Fundraiser

On Thursday, May 14, from 4 - 7:00 p.m., the annual Empty Bowls fundraiser, to support the Puyallup Food Bank, will take place at the Karshner Museum, prior to the Vesey/Munson Art Show Reception.

Empty Bowls brings together student creativity and community generosity to support the Puyallup Food Bank. The fundraiser features handcrafted bowls made by students from Rogers, Puyallup, and Emerald Ridge High Schools. Bowls will be available for purchase, ranging from $10–$20, with all proceeds donated directly to the Puyallup Food Bank.

Guests will also enjoy a meal catered by the Puyallup High School Culinary Program.

This event is a wonderful opportunity to support local families while celebrating the artistic talents of our students. We look forward to seeing our community come together for a meaningful cause.
