The Facets of Dr. Karshner

This exhibit showcases the many facets of Dr. Warner Karshner’s life—a horse-and-buggy doctor in the early 1900s who collected artifacts and donated them to the Puyallup School District to establish the museum named after his son, Paul H. Karshner.

Dr. Karshner was a doctor, researcher, senator, teacher, philanthropist, world traveler, author, and family man.

Get to know Warner, his wife Emma, and their son Paul. This exhibit traces his life from his beginnings in Ohio to Kansas and finally to Puyallup in the late 1800s. It follows his educational journey and his return to Puyallup as a doctor, highlighting his lifelong dedication to serving the community.
