Around the World in 80 Days
This exciting exhibit features artifacts from six continents, inspired by Jules Verne’s classic tale of a wager to travel around the world in 80 days in 1872. More than 50 donors, including Dr. Warner Karshner, contributed these fascinating items from around the globe.
Discover musical instruments, toys, cultural artifacts, hats and shoes, artwork, and more—alongside a captivating history of transportation. Learn about the remarkable journeys of individuals who circumnavigated the globe, from early explorers to record-setting adventurers.
The exhibit also highlights Dr. Karshner’s own travels, which took him across four continents. With over 200 artifacts on display, visitors can enjoy interactive features, including scavenger hunts, a passport activity, and more.
