Who is eligible for benefits?
Employees working at least 3.3 hours per day for a minimum of 190 days are eligible for the following benefits:
- Medical
- Dental
- Vision
- Basic Life Insurance
- Long-Term Disability
Retirement
Classified employees working at least 3.5 hours per day and certificated employees working a .5 FTE or above daily for a minimum of 180 days are eligible for retirement benefits.
In addition to mandated state retirement, the district offers an optional deferred compensation program and tax shelter annuities.
*Substitute employees may be able to purchase service credit at the end of the year.
Paid Leave
Paid leave entitlements can be found in the corresponding Collective Bargaining Agreement or in School Board Policy in the 5000: Personnel section.
Hourly and substitute employees shall accrue at least one hour of paid sick leave for every forty hours worked as an employee—RCW 49.46.210 (a).
