High School Highly Capable Programs

High School Advanced Learning Opportunities (Grades 9-12)

Overview

In high school, Highly Capable services are provided through a variety of advanced learning opportunities that allow students to pursue rigorous coursework aligned with their interests, strengths, and post-secondary goals.

Students may access advanced coursework through:

  • Advanced Placement (AP)
  • AP Capstone
  • College in the High School
  • Running Start
  • Advanced arts pathways
  • Accelerated coursework in core subject areas

Advanced learning opportunities are available at all comprehensive high schools. Students work with counselors and school staff to develop a course plan that supports their academic goals and interests.
