Dr. Polm

Dr. Polm was appointed as Superintendent of the Puyallup School District on July 1, 2020.

Dr. Polm began his career in education teaching music and mathematics at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. During that time, he served as a coach of various sports at the middle and high school levels. Dr. Polm worked as an administrator in the Chewelah School District for 16 years and as Principal at Bremerton High School in the Bremerton School District for 6 years before becoming Superintendent of the Port Townsend School District 2016 through June 2020.

Dr. Polm has earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Puget Sound, a Master of Education degree from Eastern Washington University, and a Doctorate of Education degree from Seattle Pacific University.

As Superintendent, Dr. Polm is focused on reflective listening, active engagement and collaboration designed to build on the successes and traditions in Puyallup Schools. His priorities include ensuring quality student experiences, advancing academic achievement, developing partnerships, and increasing community engagement.

He and his wife, Julie, have three grown children and six grandchildren.
