In-District Transfers
Overview
Students who live in the Puyallup School District and wish to attend a school other than their resident school in the next school year must complete the appropriate in-district transfer request and submit.
Note for In-District Students: Transportation is the responsibility of the parent/guardian. Student will not be able to utilize a Puyallup School District bus.
Are In-District Transfers Closed at Schools for the 2025-26 School Year?
Due to overcrowding and high enrollment, not every school in the Puyallup School District is open for in-district transfers.
In-District Transfer Enrollment at the following schools is closed for the 2025-2026 school year.

Timeline for In-District Transfers: 2026-27 School Year
- Elementary - Application window opens February 14, 2026
- Applications submitted by February 28 will be reviewed by April 15
- Applications submitted after March 1 will be reviewed on or after May 1
- Applications submitted after June 15 will be reviewed on or after the 4th day of school.
- Secondary (Grades 7-12) - Application window opens December 10, 2025
- Applications received by January 9 will be reviewed on or after February 28.
- Applications submitted after January 10 will be reviewed on or after April 10.
- Applications submitted after June 1 will be reviewed on or after the 4th day of school.

Rescind a Transfer
Families who want to cancel their transfer and have your child return to their home (resident) school, please complete a Request to Rescind form as soon as possible.
Appeals
Parents/guardians have the right to appeal a denied or revoked waiver request.
Email a letter to BrobbG@puyallupsd.org within five business days of receipt of the denial notification.
Gordon Brobbey, Director of Equity and Student Success, will review your appeal request within 15 school days. A written decision will then be issued.
