Formed in 1854, the Puyallup School District is the sixth sixth-largest enrolled school district in the state of Washington with approximately 23,000 students. Located in Pierce County, 30 miles south of Seattle, the district boundary includes 54 square miles with a population estimated at over 138,700 residents. The district serves its students at 22 elementary schools, seven junior high schools, three comprehensive high schools, an alternative high school, and digital-based (online) programs. The district employs approx. 3,830 certificated, classified, and substitute personnel.
