Elementary Walk-To-School Maps

Overview

Safe walking maps are available for each elementary school within the Puyallup School District for families wanting to explore options for traveling between home and school. The maps define walk zone locations by school and display streets with and without sidewalks, neighborhood greenways and trails, and crosswalk supervision locations.

How to Find the Best Route

Families can choose the most appropriate option for their situation based on personal knowledge of route conditions, comfort levels, and the speciļ¬c needs of children.

  1. Find the suggested route on the map that is closest to your home and review it with your child.
  2. Discuss walking and biking safety with your child.
  3. Go for a practice walk with your child along the suggested route on a non-school day.

Elementary Walking Maps

The Puyallup School District created the maps in consultation with the Washington State School Walk and Bike Routes Guide for Planning and Improving Walk and Bike Options for Students, and the Washington State School Administrator’s Guide to School Walk Routes and Student Pedestrian Safety.
