Puyallup Access Card (PAC)
The Puyallup Access Card (PAC) is a new, all-in-one identification and access card designed to enhance safety, convenience, and connectivity for Puyallup School District students and families.
Current Use: Bus Pass
Students now use their PAC to scan when boarding and exiting school buses. This process improves student safety and accountability by allowing the district to track when and where students get on and off.
Families who use the StopFinder transportation app can receive real-time notifications when their child boards or exits the bus, view live bus tracking, and communicate directly with district transportation staff for timely updates and information.

Data Privacy and Security
Your student’s information stays protected.
The district understands that protecting student information is a top priority.
The Puyallup Access Card (PAC) system has been developed with strong safeguards to ensure student data is handled responsibly and securely.
How the PAC System Works
- When students scan their card, the PAC system only reads the card’s unique ID number.
- The card’s number connects to your student’s name in the district’s secure bus routing system, allowing drivers to see who is boarding or leaving.
- The card's vendor receives student information solely to print the cards with the corresponding unique card number and associated student.
Who Can Access the Data
- Designated District staff are granted access to student transportation data to support operational needs.
- Vendors and partners are required to follow strict data privacy agreements and state/federal regulations.
What’s Not Collected or Shared
- No personal information (e.g., names, addresses, or GPS locations) is stored on the physical card itself.
- All data transmissions are encrypted in accordance with district and state privacy standards.
Data/Privacy Resources

- Policy 3235 - Protection of Student Personal Information
Coming Soon - Future Enhancements
While the PAC is currently used primarily by students who ride district transportation, all students will eventually receive a card as new features are introduced. The PAC will soon serve multiple purposes, becoming a single, unified card for students.
Planned future uses include:
- Device access: Log in securely to district devices
- Student meals: Easily purchase breakfast and lunch
- Activities: Replace traditional secondary ASB cards
The Puyallup Access Card is a step toward a more connected and secure student experience, streamlining daily routines and improving communication between families and schools.
