Summer Learning Program

Summer Learning Program (Grades K–6) 

Our Summer Learning Program offers engaging, high-quality learning opportunities designed to support and extend student growth during the summer months. Open to students entering grades K–6, this program focuses on building foundational skills, fostering curiosity, and creating meaningful connections in a supportive environment. 

Students are identified for participation by academic needs and will receive an invitation to apply. Space may be limited, and participation is based on this invitation process.   

Program Overview 

The Summer Learning Program is typically held during the month of July and runs Tuesday through Thursday in half-day sessions. Each day is thoughtfully designed to balance academic growth with enrichment and relationship-building. 

Students will participate in: 

• Reading and math instruction tailored to their learning needs  
• Leadership development and social-emotional learning  
• Cultural arts and enrichment experiences  
• Collaborative, hands-on activities that promote problem-solving and creativity  

A healthy snack is provided daily at no cost to families. 

Our Approach 

Our Summer Learning Program is designed to educate, engage, and empower every student through meaningful connections and engaging instruction. We focus on accelerating learning while creating enriching experiences that build confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning. 

Students are supported in reaching their full potential through targeted instruction in core skills, opportunities to apply their learning, and experiences that promote problem-solving and critical thinking. Through interactive, differentiated lessons, students stay motivated and connected while learning in ways that meet their individual needs. 

Just as important, we prioritize helping students develop positive relationships, value the learning process, and grow as confident, capable learners. We are proud to partner with families to make the most of the summer experience and support each child’s continued success.

General Program Details

July 7-30, 2026

Firgrove Elementary School - 13918 Meridian E, South Hill, WA 98373

Tuesday through Thursday

9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Arrivals start at 8:45 a.m.

• Open to K-6 students recommended by school staff who meet the eligibility criteria. 

• Students must be enrolled in the Puyallup School District as of January 5, 2026. 

• Snacks will be provided, but breakfast and lunch will not be served.

• Families are expected to provide transportation.
