Asset Preservation Program
Overview
Puyallup School District has implemented the Asset Preservation Program (APP) as a maintenance plan to address facility maintenance and eligibility for state funding assistance.
The APP model distinguishes between two primary facets of maintenance: Infrastructure Maintenance and Operational Maintenance.

This APP is based on observation, evaluation, repair, and/or replacement of the building areas currently assessed on the OSPI Study & Survey's Building Condition Evaluation (BCE) form. This system takes each area of the BCE and defines the component and then suggests predictive (life cycle replacement). Preventative, restorative, and other tasks to maintain those components. The BCE has 20 specific areas divided into five categories that are evaluated for condition using primarily objective criteria and one category, building suitability that is evaluated using subjective criteria.
- Category 1: Exterior Building Condition
- Category 2: Interior Building Condition
- Category 3: Mechanical Systems Condition
- Category 4: Safety/Building Code
- Category 5: Provisions for Disabilities
- Category 6: Building Suitability
