Elementary Education

The Department of Elementary Education provides leadership, guidance, and comprehensive support for elementary schools across the Puyallup School District.

Department staff partner with principals, teachers and staff to ensure each of our 22 elementary schools delivers safe, supportive, and high-quality learning experiences for every child.

How We Support Elementary Schools and Families

  • Offer support with new student registration and enrollment procedures.
     

  • Support schools with student discipline practices that are equitable, consistent, and aligned to district policies.
     

  • Provide guidance and resources to strengthen elementary school operations, instructional practices, and student learning.
     

  • Address family-school based concerns and facilitating collaborative problem-solving to support students’ academic and social success.
     

  • Lead principal professional learning to build instructional leadership capacity and foster continuous improvement.
     

  • Coordinate staffing and hiring processes to ensure schools are well-supported with qualified personnel.
     

  • Support the implementation of the Washington School Improvement Framework to promote equitable outcomes for all students.
