1. Register your account as a Community Organization on Peachjar.com
    
2. Review Peachjar’s Guide for Community Organizations for information about discount pricing, flyer creation tips, and more
    
3. Go to ‘Post & Notify’ in your account to submit a flyer (See directions)
    

4. After you hit submit, your flyer will be automatically submitted to the district for approval. Once approved, your flyer will be emailed to parents and posted on each school’s web flyerboard for your selected duration of time. Note: Peachjar charges outside organizations a small fee for this service that is typically much less than the cost to copy and deliver paper flyers to students.

Community flyers must be from nonprofit organizations having social, recreational or educational value to students. The dissemination of such materials is solely to provide families with information on activities outside the school district that may be of interest to their students. It does not reflect the district’s endorsement or sponsorship of the activity. The school or district shall not distribute materials that: 

• Promote the use of illicit drugs, alcohol, tobacco or firearms;
• Promote hostility, disorder or violence;
• Are obscene, lewd or vulgar;
• Are libelous;
• Contain language that is intimidating, demeaning, harassing or threatening on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin or ancestry, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, marital or veteran status, including, but not limited to, racial, sexual or ethnic slurs;
• Promote commercial enterprises;
• Promote or oppose any political candidate, ballot proposition or legislation;
• Promote the violation of existing laws, regulation or ordinances, or official school policy, rules or regulations;
• Proselytize or disparage religious beliefs; or
• Inhibit the functioning of any school.
• Out of state or generic mass mailers from national organizations do not meet our definition of community organizations and thus will not be approved for distribution.

All flyers must be accessible to all families, including those who use assistive technology. To meet ADA requirements, please follow these standards when creating your flyer:

• PDF format: Flyers must be submitted as PDFs.

• Readable fonts: Use clear, easy-to-read fonts at least 12 pt in size.

• High contrast: Ensure strong contrast between text and background.

• Selectable text: Avoid image-only flyers; text must be searchable and selectable.

• Alt text: Provide a brief description of graphics, logos, or images so screen readers can describe the content.

• Plain language: Use clear, simple language so information is easy for all families to understand.

Tip for organizations: The easiest way to stay compliant is to create your flyer in Word or Google Docs, run the built-in accessibility checker, and then export as a PDF.

Adobe Acrobat Reader (Free version) - Lets you run a basic accessibility check on PDFs and test if text is selectable (not image-only).

ImageColorPicker.com – A free online tool that lets you click on any part of an image to instantly find the exact color code for accessibility checks.

WebAIM Contrast Checker – A quick online checker that shows whether your text and background colors meet ADA contrast standards.

Want more families to notice and act on your flyer? These tips can help:

• Keep it simple: Use a clean layout with minimal text. Families often view flyers on their phones.

• Highlight key details upfront: Include the who, what, when, where, and cost clearly at the top.

• Use strong visuals: Photos or graphics should be high-quality, inclusive, and easy to understand.

• Add a clear call-to-action: Tell families exactly what to do next (e.g., Register online, Sign up today, or Learn more at [website])

• Ensure accessibility: Use large, readable fonts, strong color contrast, and alt text for images so all families can access your flyer.

• Include multiple ways to connect: Provide both a clickable link and a phone/email contact for families who prefer different communication methods.

• Highlight affordability: Share if scholarships, discounts, or free options are available.

• Post early: Submit your flyer at least 2 weeks before your event to allow time for families to plan.
