Visible progress is being made on the Rogers High School Administration Building this summer as part of our 2024 Capital Levy-funded roof repairs. Crews have begun structural cutbacks and repair of the roof eaves, addressing areas compromised by dry rot and prolonged moisture exposure. The building is now prepped for new fascia, flashing, roofing repairs, and the installation of a more effective external gutter and downspout system.
One key improvement includes the installation of new galvanized steel sunshades. These will replace existing wood sunshades that have extreme dry rot. Sheet metal end caps and properly installed external gutters will cover the now-exposed roof beams, shielding them from weather and preventing the kind of deterioration that affected the original wood features. The new materials are designed to last longer and reduce the need for future repairs, an important upgrade for both building longevity and fiscal responsibility.
These targeted improvements demonstrate how strategic use of Capital Levy dollars helps us maintain the integrity of our schools without waiting for system-wide failures. Tackling issues like rot, aging drainage systems, and exposed wood not only preserve our facilities but protect the learning environment inside.
Thank you to our community for your continued support of the 2024 Capital Levy. Your investment is helping us extend the useful life of our schools, one smart project at a time.
