Thankfully, Woodland Elementary staff and staff returned to the building last Tuesday, but our crews continued restoring the building to normalcy through the weekend. The dehumidifiers are gone, and we are now in the taping and mudding phase of drywall reconstruction. Rooms are quickly getting back in order.
Two weeks ago, an aging sprinkler pipe decided to surprise us during freezing temperatures, causing water to flow into the gym, library, kitchen, and six classrooms. Our team jumped into action, conducting flood cuts and removing 30 inches of drywall to ensure thorough drying.
For those interested in the technical aspects, taping, and mudding are crucial steps in the process of transforming drywall into a smooth canvas. Tape and joint compound (mud) layers collaborate to achieve seamless joints, filling gaps and contributing to a polished finish. It is a meticulous process, but the outcomes are rewarding!
We appreciate your support and patience as we navigate through this process.
