Where We're Growing: Meadow Brook Moves In. 53 New Homes Near Rogers High

Our community continues to grow, and so does the responsibility to ensure our schools are ready for the future. One of the newest residential developments in region 2 is Meadow Brook, a 53-home project, including 29 single-family detached and 24 single-family attached homes, located just off 152nd Street on South Hill. 

Meadow Brook falls within the attendance boundaries of Firgrove Elementary, Ballou Junior High, and Rogers High School. While relatively small in scale, even modest developments like this can contribute to long-term enrollment trends, particularly in areas already experiencing growth. 

Planning for Capacity at Rogers High 

Rogers High School, which has served the community since 1968, is currently operating above its original capacity. In 2024, the Bond Advisory Committee recommended expanding the campus to support up to 1,800 students. Although the bond measure passed in both the February and April 2025 elections, it was not validated. 

In response, the district is implementing short-term solutions. Guided by recommendations from the School Capacity and Utilization Task Force (SCUT), three portable classrooms will be installed at Rogers and ready for use in Fall 2025. 

Staying Ahead of Growth 

The district continues to track residential construction projects like Meadow Brook to understand their impact on school enrollment. By partnering with local jurisdictions, reviewing permit data, and maintaining open dialogue with our community, we aim to stay ahead of growth and make informed planning decisions.
