Roof Replacement at Meeker Elementary Moves Forward

Critical roof repairs at Meeker Elementary continue on schedule.

Next Step: Shingle Installation Underway

Thanks to the 2024 Capital Levy, critical roof repairs at Meeker Elementary continue on schedule. Crews have completed repairs to the base roof and added the protective underlayment, setting the stage for the next phase: installing the shingles.

These upgrades are part of a larger effort this summer to maintain and protect the school, which also includes new gutters, repairs to damaged lap siding, and a full exterior repaint. Each step ensures the building remains safe, functional, and ready for students.

“Completing the base roof repairs and protective layers is a key milestone,” said Brady Martin, Executive Director of Construction, Maintenance and Facilities Planning. “The next phase of shingles will finalize the roof replacement, keeping the building secure and reducing the need for costly emergency repairs in the future.”

Meeker Elementary’s roof had reached the end of its service life. By replacing it now, the district is protecting both the structure of the school and the learning environment inside. These improvements reflect the responsible, proactive approach made possible by local voter support for the Capital Levy.

The project is on track, demonstrating how planned maintenance extends the life of facilities and safeguards the community’s investment in its schools.
