Ridgecrest Elementary's new serving area is now open

What a transformation in just one month! Last month, we provided a sneak peek of the construction at Ridgecrest Elementary's new serving area. During our recent visit, we witnessed the positive impact of this dedicated space in action. Until this academic year, students collected their school meals in the gym, often disrupting other classes' physical education sessions. Ridgecrest's new serving space guarantees that students receive their meals safely while enabling uninterrupted gym activities.

It's important to budget for maintaining our serving areas and essential kitchen systems, especially as our communities grow and these assets face increased wear and tear. PSD’s capital budget, responsible for major maintenance, renovation, and construction projects, is set to run out by 2026 unless we secure additional bond or levy funding.
