Ridgecrest Elementary Playground Transformation Underway

This summer, Ridgecrest Elementary will receive a full playground overhaul, bringing safer, more inclusive, and more accessible outdoor play opportunities to all students. This exciting upgrade is made possible by the 2024 voter, approved Capital Levy. 

Over spring break, crews made significant progress toward delivering on our Capital Levy commitments. Work is already underway to improve outdoor access across the campus, including paving a new walking path. This path will better support students experiencing disabilities and provide more reliable access for all students during the rainy months, helping to keep muddy feet out of classrooms and homes. 

In addition, the existing playground in the far back was removed over break to make way for a new, modern play space designed with accessibility and inclusion at the forefront. The new playground will create more opportunities for students of all abilities to play, connect, and stay active. 

This project shows how the Capital Levy is supporting thoughtful, high, impact improvements across our schools, enhancing student experiences while investing in the long, term quality of our facilities.
