This summer, Meeker Elementary will receive a full roof and gutter replacement, along with repairs to damaged lap siding and a fresh coat of exterior paint—thanks to the 2024 voter-approved Capital Levy.
The existing roof has reached the end of its service life, with visible wear and failing lap siding putting the building envelope at risk. This project is not cosmetic—it’s critical maintenance that protects the structural integrity of a school that serves hundreds of students each year.
Meeker’s last major renovation was in 2006, when voters supported an expansion that added a 4,000 square-foot multipurpose space and repurposed the gym into classrooms. Nearly 20 years later, that investment is due for upkeep. Roof replacement ensures that investment—and the students and staff inside—are protected for years to come.
Work is already underway. Crews have started replacing a portion of the roof in preparation for full installation this summer.
This project is a textbook example of why Capital Levy funds matter: they allow the district to maintain facilities before small issues become more costly problems—keeping our schools safe, dry, and ready for learning.
Thank you, voters, for standing behind our schools and preserving the community’s investment in education.
