Puyallup School District Seeks Community Members and Students for Boundary Review Committee

Glacier View and Ferrucci Junior High Schools

Puyallup School District is inviting families, residents and students to apply for the 2026-2027 Boundary Review Committee (BRC), a short-term advisory group focused on school enrollment and capacity between Glacier View and Ferrucci Junior High schools.

This work follows a recommendation made in May by the School Capacity and Utilization Task Force to the Board of Directors. This work is connected to long-term enrollment trends and building capacity planning and is not related to the current fire restoration work at Ferrucci Junior High and is separate from the current Ferrucci fire restoration efforts.

The committee will evaluate the potential boundary adjustments between the two schools with the goal of balancing student enrollment and building capacity. Recommendations will be developed using community input and will align with Board Policy 3130.

Why This Work Matters

As enrollment patterns and residential growth trends shift over time, some schools may experience higher enrollment than their building capacity, while others have additional space. Periodically reviewing school boundaries helps the district plan responsibly and maintain equitable access to programs and resources.

Ferrucci and Glacier View Boundary Areas

The Boundary Review Committee will consider several factors in its work, including:

  • Balancing enrollment between Glacier View and Ferrucci Junior High
  • Supporting equitable access to educational opportunities
  • Reviewing current and future enrollment trends
  • Identifying opportunities to improve transportation efficiency
  • Considering other district initiatives that may impact school capacity

The committee will also provide opportunities for public input and will present its final recommendation, along with the options considered, the Superintendent and Board of Directors.
