PSD Recognizes Women in Construction Week and Our Servant Leaders Supporting Puyallup Schools Capital Projects

Women in Construction Week

Women in Construction Week is underway, highlighting the professionals who help plan, manage, and deliver school construction projects across the Puyallup School District. Recognized nationally by the National Association of Women in Construction, this year’s theme, “Level Up. Build Strong,” focuses on expanding opportunities and supporting career growth across the construction industry.

Across the district’s Capital Projects team, women serve in roles spanning construction management, project engineering, planning, mapping, and finance. Their work supports the development of new schools, modernized classrooms, and improved facilities funded through voter-approved capital levies.

From early design and budgeting to on-site coordination and project completion, these professionals help ensure projects meet safety standards, timelines, and community expectations. Their contributions reflect a commitment to service, supporting students, staff, and families by helping create safe, functional, and future-focused learning environments.

“The women on our Capital Projects team support the district’s mission by creating safe and functional learning environments and by serving as mentors for students who are exploring future construction-related careers,” shared Brady Martin, Executive Director of Construction, Maintenance and Planning,  “When students see women leading in these fields, it reinforces that every pathway is open to them and that strong school communities are built through diverse perspectives and shared service.”

Women in Construction Week also provides an opportunity to recognize the importance of representation in construction and related fields. By highlighting the work of women serving in these roles, the district brings awareness to career pathways in engineering, skilled trades, project management, and public sector facilities planning.

As projects continue across the district, Women in Construction Week offers a moment to acknowledge the collaboration, expertise, and service that shape Puyallup’s schools.
