PSD needs room to grow

Seeing how much the Edgewood, Puyallup, and South Hill areas are growing is exciting! Every year, more and more students join our school communities, and we welcome them with open arms.

However, Puyallup Schools need help to serve students with our current, built classroom capacity. Puyallup School District projects in the next 12 years, we'll be 4000 students OVER our classroom capacity, excluding portables, and we must also find a way to grow.

That's why we started the School Capacity and Utilization Task Force (SCUT) in June. This Task Force is a diverse group of staff, students, PTA representatives, and community members who will address the capacity issues in our schools. Their goal is to find solutions that solve space issues within our existing facilities to ensure all children (current and projected) have a safe and welcoming classroom until future capital projects, such as school renovations and buildings, can be funded and built.
