Progress Update: Roof Repairs Now Underway on Two Rogers High School Buildings

Capital Project crews repairing the eaves and gutters at Rogers High School

With students on summer break, construction crews are making steady progress on Capital Levy-funded roof repairs at Rogers High School. What began as targeted repairs to the Administration Building have now expanded to include the Main Classroom Building as well, taking full advantage of good weather and available labor.

Crews are completing the prep work on both buildings. This includes cutting back and removing dry, rotted roof eaves, stabilizing exposed beams, and preparing for the installation of new fascia, flashing, and drainage components. The exposed structural elements are being reinforced and sealed to prevent future rot and water damage.

A major component of this work involves replacing the original, decaying wooden sunshades, with new, galvanized steel versions. These steel sunshades are not only more durable but also weather resistant and easier to maintain. Sheet metal end caps and properly installed gutter systems will help shield the building from future moisture and related damage.

This project is an example of how we are putting voter-approved 2024 Capital Levy funds to work immediately. Instead of waiting for system failures, we are tackling known vulnerabilities head on, protecting our learning environments and making sure our buildings last.

Thank you to our community for supporting responsible, proactive maintenance across our schools.
