Power Upgrades at PHS (Puyallup High School) Campus Set Stage for New Portable Classrooms

Power Installed for Portables at Puyallup High School

You might have noticed fencing around new electrical equipment and preparations for a new power pole on 8th Street, just past West Main. This new equipment will support three brand-new double portables, which will be located off West Main in the field near the existing portables. These portable classrooms will provide additional classroom space to make up for classroom space lost due to the closure of the Library Science building, which we plan to replace as part of a master plan for the PHS campus.

As thoughtful stewards of taxpayer funds, we decided against investing millions of dollars in costly repairs for the aging Library Science building. Instead, we will add six classrooms using three double portables on adjacent vacant property. This solution benefits our school community now and will provide flexibility when we implement the master plan.

Thank you for your continued support as we work to improve our school!
