Playground Transformation at Edgerton Elementary Enters Final Phase

Playground Transformation at Edgerton Elementary Enters Final Phase

Exciting changes are taking shape at Edgerton Elementary, thanks to the voter-approved 2024 Capital Levy. The school’s long-anticipated playground upgrade is nearly complete, and the results are already impressive.

As of late July, the brand-new playground equipment is fully installed. From the zipline to climbing towers, slides, and swing features, there’s something for every student to enjoy. This new structure was thoughtfully designed with inclusive play in mind, offering more ways for kids to move, explore, and connect during recess.

Crews have also completed the groundwork in preparation for the new fall protection surfacing. In the coming weeks, the area will be covered with soft, ADA-accessible synthetic turf. This modern groundcover will improve safety, keep kids cleaner, and support accessible play for students of all mobility levels.

Especially exciting is how the new playground invites creative, active play. The zipline is expected to be a standout favorite, and the full structure is built to encourage climbing, swinging, sliding, and plenty of movement, rain or shine.

We cannot wait to welcome students back to this transformed space when school starts on September 3. This project represents more than new equipment, it reflects our shared commitment to safe, inclusive, and enriching environments for all students.

Thank you to the Edgerton community for making this possible. Your support of the 2024 Capital Levy is bringing real, visible improvements to our schools.

More updates are on the way as we wrap up final touches and prepare for the first day of school.
