Playground Progress at Edgerton Elementary

Playground installation at Edgerton Elementary

Change is happening at Edgerton Elementary, and fast! Thanks to support from the 2024 voter-approved Capital Levy, the school’s long-awaited playground transformation is quickly becoming a reality.

Since our last update, there’s been major progress. The new 1,200-foot walking path is now paved, offering a smooth, dry route around the playground. No more muddy shoes! And now students, families, and staff of all mobility levels can stroll, walk, or run with ease.

Even more exciting? The new play structures are going up! Bright, bold, and built with all kids in mind, these new features are designed for fun. From twisty slides to climbing nets, spinners, and interactive elements, there will be something for every age and ability to enjoy. It’s a whole new way to move, play, and burn off some energy during the school day.

In the coming weeks, crews will replace old wood chips with soft, ADA-compliant synthetic turf. This new groundcover will be safer, cleaner, and more accessible, giving all kids a place to land, laugh, and play freely. Additional sitework and landscaping will also continue to create a , welcoming outdoor space for years to come.

This is more than just a playground refresh; it’s an investment in student safety, accessibility, and well-being. And it’s made possible because of your support.

We’re thrilled to see this space take shape and grateful to the Edgerton community for helping turn this vision into a reality. When finished, this playground will be a space where all students can learn, grow, and just be kids.

Stay tuned; more updates are on the way as we hit new milestones this summer!
