Paving the Way for the Future at Fruitland Elementary

Curb installs at Fruitland Elementary

Construction is well underway on the Fruitland Elementary Traffic Improvement Project, a major investment designed to make travel to and from school safer and more efficient for students, families, and staff.

Funded by the 2024 Capital Levy, this project will expand on-site parking, create separate bus and parent traffic areas, and add longer lanes for pickup and drop-off to help move cars out of the public right-of-way. Together, these upgrades will ease congestion and improve safety for everyone using the campus and surrounding neighborhood.

As of early October, crews have nearly completed the north parking lot (bus lot) and entry area

The stormwater system is also mostly finished, including a specially designed area that naturally filters runoff to keep water clean before it leaves the site. Contractors are now working from north to south on the south parking lot, with curbs being poured this week and site lighting installation underway.

The project remains on schedule and on budget, with substantial completion expected in late November.

Thank you, voters, for making these important safety improvements possible. Your support is helping create a safer, more accessible campus for the growing Fruitland Elementary community and improving driving conditions for neighbors along Fruitland Avenue.
