New meal serving space at Ridgecrest Elementary under construction

Are you interested in getting a sneak peek of what is happening at Ridgecrest Elementary? We are super excited about lunch there this fall! The Capital Projects team is building a new dedicated lunch serving space. Until now, students would pick up their school meals in the gym, often during other classes’ physical education time. Ridgecrest’s new servery will ensure that students get their meals safely and allow gym activities to continue uninterrupted. We cannot wait to see it all come together!

Did you know that most of our older elementary schools do not have full kitchens? It is surprising, right? But do not worry. Our students still have access to delicious scratch-made food. The district has a state-of-the-art central kitchen produces many menu items with whole ingredients instead of processed substitutes. The food is then delivered to school serveries and distributed to the students. Individual schools can't support the specialized kitchen infrastructure and equipment required for receiving, storing, and preparing scratch-made meals. So, our district’s central kitchen is a great solution to ensure that our students get healthy and tasty food every day.
